EXPOSED: The truth about Taralynns diet and the health effects it can have

A lot of people are misinformed about what qualifies as an eating disorder. Anorexia is not just… NOT eating. There are a ton of symptoms and behaviors that can easily develop into an eating disorder. A lot of times, a simple diet of restricting calories can lead to unhealthy habits and obsessions and turn into a full blown eating disorder. 

People who read Taralynns blog look at her pictures and read her posts and think “but she’s so happy! She eats this, and that! She bakes and isn’t 80 pounds, there is no way she has an eating disorder” and you know what? Maybe she doesn’t, it’s not my place to diagnose her, but what I can say is that a lot of her habits DIRECTLY coincide with symptoms of just that and can easily spiral into an obsession for a person who is already insecure and has high hopes of getting thin just like Taralynn.

I’m going to expose problematic and plain UNHEALTHY choices Taralynn makes in her diet, why no ONE should go to her for nutrition advice, and hopefully reach a few people who might not have known about some of these facts

3.Sugar free/ fat free helps reduce lots of calories. It honestly taste no different most of time..

Well let’s just be real, sugar free/fat free alternatives NEVER taste as good as their sugar and fat filled counter parts. It’s just a fact of life. But is completely cutting out fats and sugars healthy? Not always. When foods say “sugar free”, what they mean is that the sugar is replaced with an artificial sweetner, usually aspartame. Artificial sweetners have been a debate for health officials since they came out. There are conflicting reports but some of the issues related to these artificial sweetners are:

  • hallucinations
  • seizures
  • skin rashes
  • diarrhea
  • headaches
  • bladder issues
  • stomach pain
  • ANAL LEAKAGE

What about effects on weight loss? Well, there have been numerous studies on this as well, and reports say that while they may contain little-to-no calories, drinking and eating artificial sweetners can actually INCREASE your appetite, so while you MIGHT not be consuming calories here, you’ll consume them elsewhere. Also, sometimes artificial sweetners can mess with your metabolism, which can hinder weight loss.

Never cook your food in oil, salts, or butter. Try to keep it fresh. ( I use Pam or I can’t believe it’s not butter)

Keep it FRESH? I mean, there is nothing FRESH about butter replacements. Let’s explore these:

In most cases, butter and margarine are very close in calories, but butter is slightly higher in saturated fats. According to recent Harvard studies, eating margarine can increase the risk of heart disease by 53% in women.  Besides being slightly lower in calories and fats, margarine has no nutritional value what so ever and is also made from partially hydrogenated oils aka trans fats.  

Butter contains many beneficial nutrients that actually protect us from heart disease. It contains Vitamin A, lecithin, it has a number of antioxidants, it’s rich in selenium. The saturated fats in butter have anti-cancer and anti-tumor properties. Butter also contains conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) which provides excellent protection against cancer. Bottom line, butter is natural, wholesome and one of the healthiest fats in the world.

That’s not saying butter is going to help AID your weight loss more important than over-all health?

Now, let’s talk oils. Mainly, lets talk olive oil. 

Olive oil is a natural juice pressed from, can you guess? Olives! It’s also the only oil that can be consumed unprocessed.

The health benefits from olive oil are in thanks to the high content of GOOD fatty acids and also a high content of of antioxidants. It’s also good for your heart because it helps control cholesterol levels. Olive oil also helps aid in digestion. I mean olive oil is the SHIT! Again, Taralynn ignores the actual HEALTH benefits of foods and instead concerns herself with only calories. 

Obviously this is just SCRATCHING the surface of Taralynns straight up ignorance about nutrition. This is a young girl who does NOT have any formal schooling about nutrition, who has a lot of harmful eating habits, and who should not be doling out advice to the masses. It’s scary that just because she has been successful in weight loss that she is now considered some sort of internet sensation and guru. 

Please please please research, see a nutritionist or at the very least a PROFESSIONAL before you take anyones advice on dieting! It’s your health you are gambling with!!!
